On dribbble

Most people in the web design industry will no doubt be aware of Dribbble, a site created by Dan Cederholm and Rich Thornett, on which designers can offer a behind the scenes glance at what they are working on.

The underlying question is “What are you working on?” which reminds me of the original idea of Twitter, “What are you doing?”. And, just like Twitter my guess is that dribbble will grow into something even more significant than it already is.

Since being drafted into the dribbble community a month or so ago I have been blown away by the work of my favorite designers as the projects they are working on come together. It is simply fascinating to see how the work of people I respect comes together and develops over time.

Dribbble has already become a necessary part of my daily routine, much like checking my RSS reader, Twitter and Flickr. The web is currently a very fertile place and despite concerns from many about it becoming over saturated, I can only see this as a positive thing.
